Where to stop
For the municipal moorings in the Haaven, the bridge-keeper doubles up as harbour-master and there is a small toilet/shower block underneath his office. The entrance code is available from the chandlers (De Vuurtoren Watersport, on the east side of the Haaven) if he is not to be found. Water and electricity is available and there is a charge for overnight stays.
What to see
The North Hinder lightship has been relocated to the north end of the Groote Dok, next to the Jan Blanken Dry Dock.
There are no grocery shops in the old harbour but you can walk 15 minutes to an Albert Heijn north of the Groote Dok, or 30 minutes to the large shopping centre on the Kanaal door Voorne.
Cafe-restaurant De Klipper is highly recommended by long-term residents of the town and is conveniently located close to De Vuurtoren. In summer the cafe-bars near the bridge and on Kerkstraat are a lively place to hang out, often with live bands, but beware that the nearby carillon tower starts its melodic alarm at 8am.
